Confusion...

There seems to be a lot of discussion these days about the final days of Jesus' life here. Judas is now being debated heavily as being one who only played a role in the crucifixion that Jesus staged himself. Mary Magdalene is argued as being the wife of Jesus. Isn't it a shame how we miss the point?

Our feeble minds must find something to debate or we are dead-or so we think. Aren't we to take the teachings of Jesus, along with the direction of the Holy Spirit, and the purity of an open heart to find truth in this life? Going to the Bible without one of those elements only ensures confusion and misunderstanding. We waste so much energy on trying to dispute what others say, and, in the mean time, miss the point. Is it to find fame? Is it to acquire money? Is it to leave a legacy? Isn't our only legacy of importance the one that is left with God himself?

What an appropriate post for the Lenten season!
I couldn't agree more with you that the arguments are missing the point of the message of Christ. When I read The DaVinci Code- it really didn't shake my faith in the very least. Neither does the Gospel of Judas.
I have to wonder at these people who ARE upset and shaken: how strong a personal relationship with Jesus Christ do they really have? The Christian faith has endured worse over the past 2,000 plus years. And if the Church and God are big enough to deal and move on, shouldn't the rest of us follow suit?
