Character Strengths and Next Chapter
My Character Strengths - My Next Chapter
After 18 years working with companies of all sizes and a state workforce of a many varied diversity, I find the work that I do is now available for a wider audience.
In 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, I worked on identifying my character strengths to prepare for possible changes of any kind. I had no idea just how fortuitous this self-discovery would be. That story can be found in my previous blog posts.
My identified character strengths are as follows:
1. Judgment (wisdom)
2. Curiosity (wisdom)
3. Perspective (wisdom)
4. Fairness (justice)
5. Appreciation of Beauty & Excellence (transcendence)
My interpretation and understanding of these give me confidence to move forward into my next chapter of work:
- Having worked with companies and the workforce that makes those companies operate, I understand and appreciate all the work that goes into starting, maintaining, and changing operations to keep those companies viable.
- Having designed, started, maintained, and changed my own business in a foreign country catering to a multicultural clientele, I understand and appreciate all that is involved in staying viable.
- Having been a consumer in several foreign cultures and, now, a consumer in my own culture for the last 18 years, I understand and appreciate what I, a customer, expect and want.
- Having identified, and now, understand the value of my character strengths, I am confident that I can give reviews of products I have consumed, experienced, and utilized the following:
- fair assessments about the pros and cons
- honest perspectives including times when I mistakenly expected things that the product didn't promise
- informed analysis for consumers to make educated decisions on purchases
- perhaps, informed analysis for manufacturers to enhance customer experiences by modifying products, services, and or solutions to exceed expectations
